The Platform On Which I Stand

What drew me to Pacifica was that it was where I wanted to raise my daughter, first and foremost. Having had the opportunity to have a safe, beautiful, caring environment to raise my daughter in, I am running to ensure every Pacifican, and every Pacifica family will have the same opportunities that this community offered me and mine.

1) Bolster parks, beaches, and recreational infrastructure, whether that means working toward a deeply needed updated community center and recreation building, or bolstering health and recreational programming in town.

2) Addressing street paving infrastructure needs, and finding solutions to traffic problems that have become significantly worsened since the pandemic. Hopefully strengthening our relationship with CalTrans.

3) Protecting our environmental resources. Preserving the quality of our soil, water, and air is very important to me. I was on my way to running for water board before I knew the council seat would be opening up, especially given my interest in recycled water usage. I’ve spent a great deal of time on Planning Commission addressing community concerns regarding Pacifica’s soil quality and air quality, and am aware that by being a council member I’ll have further opportunity to protect our local resources by joining regional bodies such as the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, or BAAQMD.

4) Addressing Economic Development, as though Pacifica’s future as an incorporated entity depends on it!

5) Acknowledging the fact that Pacifica has the second highest homeless population in San Mateo County. As councils have talked about in the past, I want to start with table top discussions understanding the what and why of homelessness in Pacifica, understand our communities views, and begin to look at possible solutions. Following that discussion, it’s time to plan to address homelessness with compassion, and bring the numbers down in our community.

With your help, our community will stand strong.
